Who i am
When I ask people what three words they would use to describe me, I usually get determined, loud, and Starbucks.
The earliest memory I have is of myself saying to my mom, “I want to sing and act when I grow up.” Her response was, “Ya know, you can do both?” I gasped and never looked back.
In 8th grade, I started emailing the admissions director of NYU Steinhardt Vocal Performance asking what I should do to prepare to get into their college program. I continued to email her annually, updating her on my training and my grades, until I received my acceptance letter my senior year. Was this too much preparation? Maybe. But hey, I got in.
At NYU, I strived to push boundaries and create new, never-before-seen opportunities. My sophomore year, I created and produced a (now annual) cabaret at The Duplex for Steinhardt students. My junior year, I created a YouTube series, entitled “Steinhardt Sings” giving students the opportunity to record and film in NYU’s state of the art recording studio. And my senior year, I produced and performed in “Steinhardt Sings Live: 54 Below”.
While my general vibe is edgy and professional, I’m really just a goof. In my free time, I play Super Mario Smash Bros. with my roommates and drink exuberant amounts of #basic Starbucks chai (their rewards program is too convenient). I still tie blankets around my neck like capes and like to think I can do a mean dolphin call. I received my bartending license from Columbia University this year and one of my favorite things is to make people drinks. Want one?
